„From the best family“ and „Brands of the century“

Small and medium-sized enterprises are the pillar and flagship of German industry and it is precisely these companies that the compendium "From the Best Family" focuses on.

In over 400 pages, Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and Prof. Dr. Peter May describe the stories and intentions of family-run businesses.

The book, published by the Zeit-Verlagsgruppe, portrays 101 German family-owned companies that were selected by a jury as particularly exemplary.

The presentation of the work took place with a ceremony on 2.12. in Berlin.

EWS Weigele GmbH & Co KG, based in Uhingen, is one of these selected companies.

"It is a great honor for us to be included in this book alongside companies such as Festool or Leitz", says Matthias Weigele, CEO of the traditional company. It is in line with our philosophy to adhere to the values of family-run companies and to continue to work on giving jobs in our region and our country a long-term perspective. The foundations have been laid, especially as the next generation is already involved in the company.

In the spring of this year, the mechanical engineering company from the district of Göppingen caused quite a stir when it was mentioned in the book "Brands of the Century" published by the same publishing group.

"It's an unbelievably good feeling to be mentioned in the same breath as brands such as Persil, Jägermeister or Aral," reports the 58-year-old company director, "especially when you consider that you've been selected through no fault of your own.

"The "Brands of the Century" have a unique history and have earned the trust of their customers, in some cases over decades. We are happy to honor these successful brands and tell their story" says Kai Wutte, Managing Director of TEMPUS CORPORATE GmbH, which produced the brand book.

EWS was founded in 1960 as Ernst Weigele and Söhne in Köngen, Esslingen County, and has been headquartered in Uhingen since 1996. EWS is a manufacturer of tool systems for CNC turning and milling technology, with manufacturing subsidiaries in the USA and South Korea, as well as sales and service branches in China and Turkey. The company in Russia had to be shut down due to the war.
